Are you trying to capture a screenshot of your entire screen? Whether you're using a PC or Mac, you'll be able to save your screen's contents with a few clicks. You can even take a Scrolling Screenshot on Android or a Full Page screenshot on iOS . This wikiHow will show you how to take a screenshot of the entire screen using your Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Saving Screenshots of the Whole Screen

  • On Windows, press Win+Shift+S to open Snipping Tool, then choose Full screen ..
  • On Mac, press Shift+Cmd+3 . Find your screenshot on your desktop.
  • On Chromebooks, press the Screenshot key, or press Shift+Ctrl+Show windows .

Using Windows (Snipping Tool)

    Press ⊞ Win + ⇧ Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool overlay. Alternatively, you can open the Snipping Tool app, then click + New .

    Choose Full screen . Snipping Tool will take a screenshot of your entire screen immediately. If you have multiple monitors, it will screenshot all of your monitors and combine all the screens together into one image.

Using Windows (Print Screen Key)

    • The button is usually in the upper-righthand corner of your keyboard, above "Backspace."
    • If you want to take a screenshot of just your active window, hold Alt as you press PrtSc .

    Screenshot an entire webpage. If you want to take a screenshot of an entire webpage, most browsers have this functionality built in. How you do this varies depending on your browser:
    • Google Chrome:
      • Press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + I to open the developer settings pane.
      • Click the vertical three dots between the settings cogwheel and the X button.
      • Click Run command .
      • Type "screenshot" into the search bar.
      • Click Screenshot next to "Capture full size screenshot." The screenshot of the webpage will be saved to your Downloads folder (or wherever your default downloads location is).
    • Microsoft Edge:
      • Press Ctrl + ⇧ Shift + S .
      • Click Capture full page .
      • Click the copy button (the two overlapping rectangles) so you can paste the screenshot somewhere else, or the save button (the floppy disk) to save the image to your Downloads folder (or wherever your default downloads location is).
    • Mozilla Firefox:
      • Click the three-line button in the upper-right corner to open the Firefox menu.
      • Click More tools .
      • Click Customize toolbar… .
      • Drag the Screenshot option to either your toolbar or the overflow menu.
      • Click Done in the bottom-right corner of the window.
      • Click the Screenshot button in your toolbar. If you added the Screenshot option to your overflow menu, you'll have to click the >> button to open the overflow first.
      • Click Save full page .
      • Click Copy to copy the screenshot so you can paste it somewhere else, or click Download to save the image to your Downloads folder (or wherever your default downloads location is).

Using Mac

    • Full page screenshots on iOS can only be saved as a PDF document.

    One of them is for the entire screen, and the other is for taking smaller screenshots of a specific area. Shift + 3 is for the whole screen, and Shift + 4 is for taking screenshots of part of the screen.
