  1. Create a Disney account or sign in to the My Disney Experience app. Setting up an account before you purchase tickets can speed up the process. Simply follow the prompts and submit your information as instructed, making sure to include your Florida address.
    • Listing your Florida address while creating your account will prompt purchasing menus to include Florida Resident options. [3]
    • Your Disney and My Disney Experience account are the same thing.
  2. Go to disneyworld.disney.go.com/admission/tickets or open the My Disney Experience app on your phone. Log in to the account you created in the previous step (on the website, a prompt stating, “Special tickets and prices may be available for Florida Residents” will be available for you to click at the top of the page).
  3. [4] Select “Continue” on the Florida Resident Ticket option. You can purchase 1, 3, or 4-day tickets with this option. [5] Pick the dates you’d like to attend a park, and that’s it!
    • The more days you choose, the lower your overall ticket rate will be.
    • Take a look at the Reservations Availability calendar before picking your vacation dates. Some parks are only open on specific dates, and although you’ll be able to reserve your park dates after purchasing your tickets, you won’t be able to change your ticket dates.
  4. You'll be asked to verify your residency online when you checkout to purchase your Florida Resident tickets. Fill out the “Your Florida Resident Information” form when checking out online, or select the “Customize Your Tickets” step after checking out on the My Disney Experience app. [6] You may be asked to provide proof of residence with a:
    • Valid Florida driver’s license (with Florida address)
    • Valid Florida state-issued ID card (with Florida address)
    • Valid Florida-based military ID
    • Current homeowner’s insurance policy or bill (no more than 2 months old)
    • Current utility bill (no more than 2 months old)
    • Mail from federal, state, county, or city government agencies (no more than 2 months old)
  5. If you want to visit more than one park in a day, you’ll have to pay a little extra. Disney’s Park Hopper ticket add-on lets you go to multiple parks throughout the day, as long as park capacity allows. Park Hopper isn’t included with Florida Resident tickets, but the option can be added after purchasing a ticket. [7]
    • Keep in mind that Park Hopper doesn’t start until 2 PM each day, meaning that you won’t be able to switch parks until this time.
    • For example, if you get to Magic Kingdom at rope drop and spend the morning there, you’ll be able to hop over to Epcot starting at 2 PM to catch a 5 PM dinner reservation.
  6. Now that you’ve purchased your ticket for your selected days, you must specify which parks you want to visit on what days. Disney’s website or the My Disney Experience app will prompt you after your purchase to reserve your park passes with the Disney Park Pass system through My Disney Experience. [8] Follow these steps to make park reservations: [9]
    • Create your party with your Family & Friends list. Select the people who will be joining you in the park. If you don’t see someone on your list, click “Add a Guest.” Everyone in your party must have the same type of ticket.
    • Choose the date and park you’d like to visit. Some parks may not be available on certain dates, so consult the calendar carefully.
    • Review and confirm your reservation. Once everything is submitted, you can view your park reservations in the My Plans tab online or in the My Disney Experience app.

  1. MagicBands are magical bracelets guests wear on their wrists that help them unlock doors, make reservations, and spark surprises inside the parks. As of July 2022, MagicBands are no longer complimentary and must be purchased before or during arrival. Depending on the chosen style, these bands can cost anywhere from $20 to $50. [13]
    • If you don’t want to purchase a MagicBand, consider activating Disney Magic Mobile in the My Disney Experience app. This will hold all the same information a MagicBand would, just on your phone.
    • If you don’t have a MagicBand or ability to access Disney MagicMobile, ask Guest Relations or your Disney hotel for a Key to the World card to store your ticket, room key, and/or credit card information. [14]
  2. Plan your day, check wait times, and make reservations using Disney’s new Genie app. The app lets you create a personalized itinerary for your visit while also providing tips and tricks for making your Disney day more magical. The Genie service is complimentary; however, Genie+ is a paid upgrade of $15 per day per person that includes one Lightning Lane each day. [15]
    • Not all attractions with Lightning Lane are offered with Genie+ and require an additional Individual Lightning Lane purchase, including Rise of the Resistance, Seven Dwarves Mine Train, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (these attractions may change, so always check the Genie app before making additional purchases).
  3. Lightning Lanes are Disney’s new version of FastPass, letting you skip the line to get on a ride faster. This service can be purchased with Genie+ or a la carte in the Genie app as an Individual Lightning Lane. Two Individual Lightning Lanes can be purchased each day one at a time once the first has been used or expired. [16]
    • The prices for Individual Lightning Lanes vary depending on attraction and park but generally range between $7 and $17.

      Tips

      • If you run into any problems while purchasing your tickets, give Disney a call at (407) 934-7639. [17]
      • Purchase your Disney World tickets ahead of time. Parks currently require a reservation to get in, and it’s less likely you’ll be able to get tickets the day of your trip. Try planning your magical vacation or getaway in advance, so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!
      • Stay up to date on Disney World happenings before your trip by reading Disney World blogs or watching Disney World news videos on YouTube. This way, you’ll be aware of any park or Genie+ and Lightning Lane changes and updates.
