Do you want to save a photo from Google Maps to your computer? If you've tried to download a user-uploaded photo from Google Maps but couldn't save it, you can do so with a secret workaround. Saving Images from Google Maps

  • To save a photo somebody uploaded to Google Maps, you'll need to enable Developer Tools in Chrome.

  1. Unfortunately, you can't download a photo from Google Maps in the mobile app. You can use any web browser on your computer to download an image from Google Maps, including Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
    • This method will work to save any image a user or business uploaded to Google Maps. If you want to save a Street View image instead, you'll need to take a screenshot .
  2. You'll see the search bar at the top-left corner of the page. You need to search for a destination to find images associated with that location.

  4. You can click All to see all photos or use the categories at the page's top-left corner. Once you click the photo you want to download, a larger version will open on the left side of the page.

    • Menu: Click â‹® > More tools > Developer Tools .
    • Windows: Press Ctrl + Shift + I .

  1. Go to https://maps.google.com in any browser. You can take a screenshot of anything on Google Maps, including satellite maps and Street View images.
  2. Use the search bar at the top to find the location you want to screenshot.
  3. For example, if you want to download a Street View image, drag the orange person icon from the bottom-right corner of Google Maps to the desired map location, then use your mouse to position your view from the desired angle.
    • You can use the + and - at the bottom-right corner of the Street View image to zoom in or out.
  4. This allows you to take a quick screenshot of the part of the screen you want to save.
    • Windows: Press Windows key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool , which starts in rectangular mode. Click and drag a rectangle around the image. When you lift your finger from the mouse, the screenshot will be saved to your clipboard. You can then click the image preview to open it, and click the disk icon to save.
