To make a hickey go away fast, try these tips:
  • Apply a cool compress immediately after you get the hickey: this will help slow down blood flow to the area and may minimize the size of the bruise that forms.
  • Apply a warm compress for 5-10 minutes a few times a day if the hickey is more than a day old: this may make it easier for trapped blood beneath the skin to break down or be reabsorbed.
  • Apply OTC healing creams and gels, especially ones that contain arnica, vitamin C, bromelain, or vitamin K.
A hickey isn't any cause for concern and it'll go away on its own. But in the meantime, you can cover it up with a scarf, turtleneck, or makeup if you don't want people to see it.

A hickey is essentially a bruise, and the coloring differs depending on the life cycle of healing it’s in, but you can color correct and conceal to cover it up. A fresh hickey has red or purple tones, which you can color correct with a green or yellow color correcting cream. Then, go in with a concealer that matches or is one shade lighter than your skin tone. Set the makeup with powder. If the hickey has progressed into a yellow/green/blue bruise, you will likely need a more peachy color corrector first, then the concealer and powder.

Dip a washcloth in hot water to create a warm compress (but make sure it's not so hot that it will burn you), then press it to your hickey. Hold it there for about 15 minutes and swap it out with a fresh one when it cools down. That's actually much more effective than using ice or a cold compress and I know because I've tried both. :)

Try putting vitamin K or C cream or Arnica on it which can speed up healing for a bruise (which is what a hickey is).

1. COLOR CORRECTOR
For a purplish hickey, choose a yellow-orange color corrector
For a more reddish one, choose a blue-green color corrector

2. CONCEALER
Choose a concealer that matches your skin tone the best and apply it evenly to the area
Blend with a brush

3. SETTING SPRAY
Set your concealer with setting spray

4. SETTING POWDER
To make the area matte rather than shiny, use setting powder where you put the spray

5. FOUNDATION
Apply foundation to the area
If you wear foundation on your face, match it to the one you use on your hickey

Hope this helps!! Good luck!! ❤️

Use a Band-Aid

Alternatively, wear a high-collared shirt
Or a turtleneck jumper
Or a scarf
Or a necklace

Put a Band-Aid over it or wear a turtleneck, a shirt with a collar, a scarf, or a necklace, like maybe a choker, to cover it up.

Massage the area to increase blood flow to the area and make the hickey stand out less. Just be careful not to like rub it in a way that irritates it, otherwise you could make it worse

If you can't get it to go away cover it up with makeup, a scarf, or bandages. You can always tell people you got cut from something and needed to put a bandage on it, and they'll never know.

A hickey is a bruise and there's not too much you can do to make it go away. It has to heal on its own, so be patient.

If you don't want your mom to know where you got a hickey just put a bandage on it and say, "The cat scratched me." (But only if you actually have a cat, of course.)

My mom asked what was on my neck, and I simply said I hit myself on the door by accident while i was looking on my phone. She believed me... I think.

You can always try to be honest. Going through all of this trouble to hide your hickey can be very stressful. Just tell people the truth, even if you're ashamed. So what if your friends laugh at you? A love bite is something to wear with pride, even if you're a little embarrassed!

Always, always, always be ready for a hickey even if it doesn't happen. Bring a little bag or something with makeup, bandages, or other supplies to help you hide the hickey, as suggested in the article, in case you get one.

Avoid having a visible hickey in the first place by making sure you get it on an easily hidden part of your body, like your collarbone or somewhere else. This will make it harder for people to notice it.

Thick chokers also work well for hiding hickeys. You could also wear a few thin chokers if you don't have a thick enough one.

If the hickey ends up looking shiny put matte pressed powder on it. It reduces shine and makes it look less like makeup.
