    Expert Answer
I always say experiment! I actually figured out where I want blush when I got sunburned. I got a little bit red, but when I looked in the mirror, I realized it was exactly how my blush should look. Because of that, now I put blush on my face in basically a stripe. I start right under my eye and go all the way up onto my temple and then onto my nose.
  • Question
How can I make a contouring look instead of blush?
    Community Answer
Contouring is the use of darker and cooler shades to accentuate the hollow of the cheeks, minimize or change the shape of the nose, and to shape the forehead, whereas blush is more for highlighting the cheek bones and adding a rosy glow. Contour by using a figure 3 shape, swooping up around the forehead, into the hollow of the cheek and then under the jawline. Blush the apples of the cheeks.
  • Question
    Can I use orange blush?
    Community Answer
You can, but use a smaller brush to apply it. If you use too much, you will look like an Oompa Loompa.
  • Question
I am having troubles getting the apples of my cheeks to appear. What else can I do?
    Community Answer
Try to smile really wide. Your cheeks will puff up to either side of your nose. Those are the apples of your cheeks.

Why does my powder completely cover up my blush?

  • Question
Why is it that whenever I try to apply blush, even when I take so many precautions to avoid excess, I still put on too much?

Maybe it is the brush. Try applying only the littlest amount (so you almost can't see it).

Some people use beet juice as a stain or use a pink eyeshadow. But as a more old-fashioned alternative, you can pinch your cheeks to increase blood flow and make them look pinker.
  • Question
What brush shape should I use to apply blush?

Use a round brush with a large surface area (since blush is loose powder). Do not use a flat or small brush. You can always ask an assistant at a makeup store, and most brushes are labelled to make it easier for you to find the right one.
  • Question
I have a fair complexion, but I cannot find a blush that works. Any advice?

I recommend going to a drug store and buying a few cheap blush options to try. Once you find a general shade you like, you can try to find similar shades in higher end brands if you'd prefer.

  • Question
How do I contour my face without making mistake? Do I have to use banana powder?
    Gwack
    Community Answer
Using powder is much easier than cream and it's also easier to fix when you make mistakes. Watch YouTube videos to learn how to do it. You do not need to use banana powder specifically but it does make a difference when you put any type of powder that isn't translucent right underneath the cheeks, the middle of the forehead, and the bridge of the nose.

    Community Answer
Don't go too dark, make sure it's subtle but pretty. Apply the blush to the brush and blow to make sure there's not too much. Squeeze your cheeks in like a fish, and gently apply along the crease it makes in your skin.

Black eyeliner is always the best, as it can be dramatic or it can be soft. Winged eyeliner, the bigger it is the more dramatic, the smaller the softer, so you can pick whether you want to do a soft look or and dramatic look.
