  • Question
How can I blow it really big?
    Community Answer
Let the air in slowly and whilst doing this, make sure you are not in a windy place. It is the slow intake of air that allows the bubble to expand larger and larger in a gently way, without popping. If you blow too quickly, it expands too quickly and is liable to bursting earlier.
  • Question
How do I blow a bubble without accidentally spitting out the gum, or doing it completely wrong?
    Community Answer
You have to flatten the gum, hold the ends of the gum with your teeth, and poke your tongue so that your tongue is covered in a thin layer of gum. Exhale gently. It takes practice and time.
  • Question
Can you blow a bubble with chewing gum?
    Community Answer
You can, but the bubble will not be very large.
  • Question
These instructions don't work for me. Do you know any other techniques?
    Community Answer
Keep practicing and keep your tongue inside the bubble until you get it. Then remove your tongue from the bubble. It does take time to finally "get it" but once you do, you'll have the technique for life (blowing bubbles as a granddad is cool).
  • Question
How do you lower the bubble back into your mouth?
    Community Answer
Close your mouth on the gum to seal it. Then, try to carefully open your mouth and suck it back in.

You don't have to make it. Many corner stores and shops sell bubble gum. Gas stations have it, while Walmart has it in checkout aisles. If you don't have anything like that close to you, try a grocery store.
  • Question

  • Question
Do you have any tips for someone who is unable to blow a bubble after hours of trying? How do I get the small circle without it snapping?

  • Question
The gum sticks to my tongue, what do I do?

Yes. You could flatten the gum, push it up and poke your tongue through it and blow.
  • Question
This is not working. What type of gum company do you recommend?
    Community Answer
Hubba Bubba is an excellent choice, and any other gum company is good too, like Double Bubble. Even brands that are more known for chewing gum, like Extra, would be fine. Just so you know, it's not the gum company that affects your ability to blow bubbles.
  • Question

I can't hold the gum in my mouth, it keeps falling out. I'm holding it with my teeth and still won't stay. How can I prevent this?
    Community Answer
Try just holding it in with your fingers till you get used to it, and then try without them. You can hold your fingers on the two sides of the gum so it won’t come out, then just blow.
  • Question

    Community Answer
When blowing a bubble, what you need to do is poke your tongue through, just a bit, in order to create an air pocket. Withdraw your tongue and sigh; a bubble should be forming. Do not sigh to hard or you will force the gum out of your mouth.
  • Question
I can't get the blowing part. Can you give a detailed explanation?
    Community Answer
Try to curl your tongue into a U shape once you’ve got the gum over your tongue. Also, make sure the gum isn’t too thick. Blow like you're trying to cool down a hot drink or soup (channel the air).
  • Question
Can I blow a bubble even if I have ankyloglossia?
    Community Answer
It's possible, though it may be slightly harder. You should make a very flat circle of gum using the roof of your mouth, lay it against your lips and blow gently.
  • Question
None of this works for me. When I push my tongue through, the gum sticks to it. How do I prevent this?
    Community Answer
Try to make the gum stick to your teeth. When you roll the gum into a ball and push it against your teeth, clench your teeth and push as hard as you can with your tongue, making sure you push mainly on the sides of the gum and not just in the center. Then open your teeth a little, pucker your lips like you're going to whistle, and blow using your diaphragm.
  • Question
What do I do if I can't stick my tongue out right and I end up drooling?
    Community Answer
This is pretty hard to fix. You have to open your teeth a little and push right in the center of the gum. Then you should brush your tongue on your mouth to make the gum around your tongue thinner so you can actually see your tongue through the gum. That prevents drooling and makes it easier to stick out your tongue.
  • Question
Does it take a lot of gum to do this?
    Community Answer
It can be done with amounts varying from half a piece to four pieces. The more gum you use, however, the more difficult it will be to blow bubbles.
  • Question
Is Hubba Bubba a great chewing gum?
    Community Answer
Yes, Hubba Bubba is an excellent gum for chewing, as all gums are, but it's actually bubble gum. If that's what you meant, Hubba Bubba is good for blowing bubbles.
