    Yes, you can cut them off. Cutting off these hanging leaves will make room for the new growth.

    You should get an artificial indoor grow light to supplement the sunlight. Fluorescents will be your best option.

    Peace lilies let you know very quickly when they need watering by drooping. You can go to work with the plant looking fine and when you get home, it is lying flat. Watering brings it back to normal in a couple of hours. It can help to use soil with water retention properties (ask your nursery for help).
