  • Question
What if I want something I can remove when done?
    Community Answer
Try PVC plastic sheets. It's similar to wrapping paper but it's clear plastic.
  • Question
Can you peel it off without damaging the book?
    Community Answer
No, you generally can't. If you do, anything between the top layer of the cover and the whole cover can rip right off.
  • Question
Can I laminate the dust jacket onto the book too, so it doesn't remove itself?
    Alia Tee
    Community Answer
I know our public library does this, just make sure you don't leave any air pockets.
  • Question
Will the plastic shrink over time?
    Community Answer
It shouldn't. I have kept a covered book for a whole year, and it is still in great shape.
  • Question
Should I wrap the laminate around the first page or just the cover?
    Community Answer
It's up to you, but keep in mind that if you wrap the first page, you can't ever read whatever's between the cover and the first page (if there's anything there).
  • Question
What is the best brand/type of laminating plastic to use?
    Community Answer
The brands Con-Tact and Duck are both good. You should be able to buy them from Walmart or Amazon.
  • Question
How can I remove air bubbles after the book is wrapped? Is this possible?
    Community Answer
If the clear film still has some adhesive on the other side, it is possible for you to prick some of the smaller bubbles with a pin or needle, giving the air a place to escape from. This way you can rub the bubble away. Just be sure not to make any unnecessary tunnels. Don't feel too bad if you make a big mess of it beyond repair. We live and we learn.
