  • Question
What happens to the person who sells me fake games?
    Community Answer
Nothing really happens to them unless they get reported to the police and they can prove they are selling fraudulent merchandise.
  • Question
I've had my Pokemon Diamond game for years. It has everything except that CE logo thing. Actually, none of my games have it. Is it fake or not?
    Community Answer
The CE mark is a mark that is used on product manufactured or made to be sold in Europe and is only on European Games. You likely have a North American version of the game, which does not have that symbol. Don't worry though, your game is likely real.
  • Question
What happened if all the steps are right, and it doesn't look fake, but when I put it in the system, the entertainment for the game is blank. I have already cleaned it several times.
    Community Answer
You were likely scammed; try to get your money back if you bought it online.
  • Question
Do these methods work for a Nintendo 3DS?
    Community Answer
Yes, these same methods can be used to determine if games for the 3DS are fake.
  • Question
Will this work for Game Boy Advance cartridges?

    Community Answer
Some steps will work with Gameboy Advance cartridges. Try seeing if your cart's fake.
  • Question
I recently purchased the game "Fossil Fighters Champions" from Amazon USA and shipped it to New Zealand, but my console does not register it as region-locked or fake. Why is this?
    Community Answer
This is likely just because the game itself was not region-locked. Amazon stocks most region-specific versions of games, so they probably sent you a New Zealand version by default.
  • Question
Can you suggest some stores I can shop at?
    Community Answer
You should shop at GameStop (or whatever game store is popular in your country), and use these steps to determine whether a game is fake or not. Purchasing online is not ideal, but you're going to, buy from trusted sellers on eBay. Avoid sellers with lots of poor feedback and/or that are selling the game for a considerably different amount than a clearly authentic one, like multiple copies of Pokémon HeartGold for $15 each.
  • Question
I got Speed Racer the video game from a friend. It has no box or book, but I've played it for 2 days and it's still fine. Could it still be fake?
    Community Answer
There's a chance it could be, but it's pretty unlikely, especially since you've been playing it with no issues. Did you ask your friend about it? Maybe he/she just lost the box and book.
  • Question
All of the steps say its okay but when I put it in, it displays the wrong thing, is it fake?
    Community Answer
There's a 99% chance it could be. Take a look at the instructions again. Or, you might have brought the wrong game.
  • Question
I recently bought "Fossil Fighters Champions" off eBay USA and had it shipped to the United Kingdom. It's coming up blank on my 3DS. I've cleaned it and it won't work. What else can I do?
    Henry ford 1.0
    Community Answer
You most likely have the USA version of the game. Your 3DS is likely region-locked. EU and UK use PAL; USA uses NTSC. It will likely say which on the game. Try buying it from eBay UK instead.
  • Question
If you don't have the box for the game, can you still tell if it's a fake by other means? Like, by the cartridge?
    Gravity_Cipher
    Community Answer
Yes, you can. Look at details like the ridges of the sticker, the seal and even on the back.
  • Question
My copies of Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon HeartGold run perfectly fine, but this article says they're both fake. What's that about?
    Gravity_Cipher
    Community Answer
If they run fine, the games could be perfectly copied on fake cartridges or the cartridges only look fake.
