If it's in retail mode, the easiest fix is to factory reset your phone. In your settings, scroll to "Backup/reset" and choose "Factory reset." When the device turns back on, it will let you set up as a personal device. Ensure you have the password for the linked Google account on hand.

What do I do if I can't reset my phone due to parental controls?
    Community Answer
There is an option how to restart your phone even with parental control. Try pressing on/off button with home button at the same time and wait until your phone logo comes up, but you have to hold it longer until the settings of your device comes up like: restart, delete data, recover mode and safe mode then you choose the option that you need. If you don`t have home button then here´s another option. Press the on/off button and volume up button at the same time and do the same thing (see above.)

    Community Answer
You can factory reset your device through recovery mode. Depending on your device, the key combination to enter recovery mode may be different. Just search up something like '[insert phone model here] recovery mode' or whatever. Once you found out the combination, you'll have to hold whatever keys it tells you when starting up the phone. Now, at the black screen showing lots of text, look for 'Erase data/factory reset'. Use the Volume keys on the side of your device to move the highlight (colored section) to that option. Then, like before, use the Volume keys to select Yes. Your device will reset and you'll be able to set it up like new.
