  • Question
How do I dye other armor?
    Community Answer
You can't dye chain, iron, gold or diamond armor unless you use a mod that allows you to.
  • Question
Do I drop the armor in the cauldron?
    Community Answer
No, you simply tap the cauldron, and the more water you use up, the brighter the resulting color will be. There is enough water for four taps.
  • Question
How do I take it out?
    Community Answer
Armor should never go into the cauldron. If it does, jump into the cauldron and you will pick up the item.
  • Question
How do I click on the cauldron and dye the water at the same time? It never worked on my computer.
    Community Answer
You can't do this on a computer. This is for the pocket edition, only.
  • Question
Does it affect your armor physically?
    Community Answer
No, stats like the durability, protection, and enchantment do not change, just the color.
  • Question
Should I get help if it glitches?
    Community Answer
Yes, so that you can resolve your problem effectively.
  • Question
Why do I need to use mods for other armor?

Because in vanilla Minecraft, only leather can be dyed.
  • Question
    Can you dye iron armor?
    Mr.Vivrus
    Community Answer
No, you can only dye leather, which is why leather armour can be dyed. Nobody dyes iron because the logic is the dye won't stay on iron, gold, chainmail or diamond.
  • Question
Can you do it in pocket edition?
    Mr.Vivrus
    Community Answer
Yes, you can dye them by adding a dye to a cauldron with water and tap and holding the leather armour on the cauldron.
  • Question
Can I do that on the crafting table too?
    Mr.Vivrus
    Community Answer
Yes, you can. That's for people who play Java edition on Minecraft. Because in Java, you cannot use cauldrons to dye armor.
  • Question
Would you be able to dye more than one color of armor?
    Alexander Tran
    Community Answer
You can dye it any color as long as you have the dye.
  • Question

  • Question
    Can you dye other things?
    Community Answer
Yes, you can dye: Beds, dog collars, Shulker boxes, glass blocks/glass panes, terracotta/hardened clay, concrete powder (turns into the respective colour concrete when water is applied), banner, firework stars, wool (both directly dyeing the sheep as well as wool blocks), signs (Java Edition only), balloons & glow sticks (bedrock & education edition).
  • Question
Can I still enchant the armor after its dyed?
    Vortrexion
    Top Answerer
After you dye leather armor, you can still enchant it. The armor will remain the same color that it was before you enchanted it.
  • Question
Can you completely dye it? For me it leaves the knee caps, middle of hat and bottom of boots brown. Can you dye these parts or are they stuck as brown?
    Vortrexion
    Top Answerer
Unfortunately, these parts of the armor stay like this. No matter what color you dye the armor, these brown parts will remain the same. This can easily be fixed by using a texture pack that would make the entire armor the color you want.
  • Question
How do I dye leather black?
    Vortrexion
    Top Answerer
To die leather armor black, you must obtain squid Ink, and convert it to black dye. Then by using the black dye in a water-filled cauldron, you can begin dyeing your armor black.
