Would a male still be good in the Elite Four?

I used a male Salandit in Sun, not knowing then that only female Salandit evolve into Salazzle. It was still pretty decent, though probably not my most powerful Pokemon. If I remember right, I had it learn Toxic and Venoshock and that was a good combination. I now have a female Salandit in Moon.

You will have to either use another Pokemon with the Cute Charm ability or just test your luck in the tall grass. If you want to get an evee and make a Sylveon, then take the egg at the nursery at route four in Akayla. When you are almost ready for Olivia's trial, go to her shop and buy a fairy stone. Give it to evee. She will turn into Sylveon.

It may be a male Salandit, or it may be holding an Everstone. Also, if it tries to evolve, make sure you don’t press ''B'' during the evolutionary sequence, as this will cancel the evolution and it’ll try again the next time it levels up (unless it’s already at level 100).
