QuestionHorizontal line will not go away despite setting to no borders?Kent SuarezCommunity AnswerIf you hit Enter after a string of underlines, hyphens or dashes and an unwanted solid line appears which is not made of editable characters, you can immediately hit Ctrl+Z via the keyboard or its equivalent back-arrow icon to Undo Word’s conversion of it, leaving it in the dashed form you created. If you later want to remove such a line, after it’s too late to use the above Undo, just put the cursor in the paragraph above the line and press ctrl Q. This always works for me in Word 7. If after that a line remains, try selecting it and hitting delete. If that fails, select the underlined section, go to Borders in the Home menu and select no borders.
