    Expert Answer
Yes, take a 4-6 inch cutting from a nonflowering plant. Remove 1/3 of the leaves off the bottom end of each cutting. Place the cutting in water in a bright location until roots form. Then, plant the cutting in soil when the roots are at least 2-3 inches long.

  • Question
How tall will a honysuckle grow?
    Community Answer
They can grow over 10 feet per season once they are established.
  • Question
Should you remove the head after flowering?
    Community Answer
The flowers usually fall off on their own and add a little nutrition to the soil. The leaves near the flower stay healthy, so I would not head them. Older honeysuckle will grow batches of seeds with velvety leaves at the ends of some branches from spring into summer, and they are a big attraction for hordes of aphids. I have found cutting off these gooey seed heads does not de-energize the plant, and the sooner you do it, the less damage the aphids will do to the rest of the plant and surrounding plants. Be sure and drop the cuttings into a plastic bag and dispose of promptly after tying the bag closed.
  • Question
Someone pruned my bush with beautiful flowers, and now it is not blooming. How can I make it bloom again?
    Community Answer
Try cutting 2-3 centimeters off of where the person cut your bush, and make sure the tips are fully opened so new ones can grow. Water it every day, and make sure it is healthy.
  • Question
How do I store the seeds for the next planting season?
    Community Answer
Store them in a dry place without any dirt or sunlight and they should be fine for next season.
  • Question
What is the coral and white bunch of honeysuckle plant called?
    Community Answer
You might be referring to "Scentsation Honeysuckle." Jackson & Perkins has a photo.
  • Question
How can I reduce the height of a newly planted honeysuckle?
    Community Answer
You can attach a roof with plant supports. If you don't have supports or it's too late, you can always try to trim them.
