You can definitely grow your lavender in pots. Just make sure to repot your lavender when it outgrows its current pot. You'll know it's outgrown its pot because its roots are visible at the top or bottom of the pot. When you repot your lavender, just choose a container that's 1-2 inches (2-5 cm) larger than its old one.

Plant a lavender variety that is heat tolerant, such as Bandura purple lavender, fringed lavender, Grosso lavender, or Hidcote lavender. If it looks like the lavender isn't doing well outside, simply move it inside. Just make sure it gets a lot of bright, direct light while indoors.

I put the seeds in a Styrofoam tray with peat land and bio humus. I did not water them but sprinkled them with a sprinkler. In two weeks nothing has grown. The Styrofoam was not draining. What am I doing wrong?

If I start from seed, can I get flowers for an October wedding?

Depends when you start. From the time you start in the refrigerator, it's about 5 months before they are even planted in the ground. If you start in Feb/March, you will have them in the ground by August, and they may be flowering by October. However, notice above that it is recommended to cut off the flowers in the first year so that the plant can devote its energy to developing a root system.
