My class will plant beans and peas. Can we put both of them together?

Yes! You can plant the peas early in the season while it is still cool, and plant the beans in between them once the soil has warmed. Once you have harvest the peas, cut the plants out to allow room for the beans to grow.

Can I grow a bean plant from fresh beans, or do they have to be dry beans?

They have to be dry beans. For some reason birds eat fresh beans, but not dry beans.

Does it matter what season is it if I'm growing the beans indoors?

I'm sure it wouldn't matter if 2 conditions are met: 1. You provide an adequate temperature for the plant - some plants prefer cool but definitely not cold temperatures at around 65 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Unless you have a grow light, make sure your plants are exposed to enough sunlight - so if you live in a rainy and cloudy area, you might want to reconsider growing indoors out of season.

How much sunlight does a bean plant need after it has been replanted?

Probably not too much. A bit or some will do, give it a time to adjust it new environment, give it a lot of water( but don't make puddles!) After 3-4 days, if it still looks healthy and strong, start giving it the normal amount of sunlight and water.

Yes, this is important to do, so they produce side shoots and concentrate on producing beans instead of growing higher. On a practical point, it allows you to reach your beans too!

If I'm growing a bean plant in a cup, when do I put it in the ground?
