You can also use thickening products and sprays that can thicken the hair up when you style it. Another trick would include blow-drying your hair upside down. In doing this, you're drying the hair in the opposite direction of how the hair grows out. This can create a nice lift so that when you flip your hair back again, you'll have a lot more volume.

QuestionIs it true that you only need to shampoo your roots of your hair and condition the ends?Community AnswerThe roots are definitely the most important part to shampoo, as that is where most of the oiliness is concentrated. Meanwhile, the ends are usually the driest, and overshampooing can exacerbate that, especially given how harsh most drug store shampoos are (though there are also gentle shampoos out there that won't damage your hair). However, it would be good to shampoo all of your hair at least occasionally to wash out germs, product residue, etc. that accumulate over time on the entirety of your hair. For the same reasons, conditioner is more needed on the ends of the hair than at the roots, and some people find that using conditioner on the roots makes their hair too oily or weighed down. However, that shouldn't be a problem if a) you use a high-quality conditioner, b) you rinse the conditioner out really well.
