  • Question
If I lock my car manually in a car with automatic locking, can I open the car manually?
    Community Answer
Yes. There should be a key hole to use your key in. By using the handle from the inside, it always unlocks unless there is child safety lock on.
  • Question
I heard you should lock your car from inside instead of using the lock on the key. Is that true?
    Community Answer
It really makes no difference, as long as you're sure you've locked it. The only time it would make a difference is if there's a problem with either one of your locks or your key (or you happen to press the wrong button).
  • Question
Can I lock the car door if my second set of remote keys are in the car?

    Community Answer
It depends on the model, but most modern cars require you to not have keys inside the car in order to lock it.
  • Question
Is it possible to have the driver's door unlocked whilst the rest of the doors are locked? I am concerned about accidents and afraid I might be locked in the car and not be able to get out.

    Community Answer
Try researching some statistics on accidents (they are rare), and maybe read some information on how the locking/unlocking system works from the inside in your car. This will make you feel safer in the car. The car door will open if you do it correctly (unless the door is severely damaged). Practice getting out of the car quickly if you are afraid of an accident, so that the movement is in your muscle memory.
  • Question
Is there anyway to lock my car with a simple magnetized or suction device from the outside?
    Murialvoid
    Community Answer
Not with a simple one, but all wireless systems have a risk of breach.
  • Question
My car remote will not lock or unlock my car. Why?
    Community Answer
It most likely needs new batteries. Car remotes use button batteries, which are flat and look like coins. Replace the batteries, then check to see if it works. If not, you might need to replace the remote entirely.
