  • Question
How many points do you get when you make a goal?
    Community Answer
When a pass is completed in the end-zone, you get one point. After that, the play restarts by "pulling" the disk from the same end-zone.
  • Question
How many people are allowed to guard the player with the Frisbee?
    Community Answer
Only one player is allowed to guard the disk (within 3 meters of the player with disk). However, provided they stay outside of the 3 meter mark, there can be any number of additional people blocking throws. Check out "zone defense" if you want more info on that.
  • Question
Am I allowed to jump or pivot when I'm holding the Frisbee like in basketball?
    Community Answer
You're not allowed to jump. It counts as traveling because both of your feet left the ground. You can pivot as long as one leg stays on the ground. Only your throwing leg can move, so you can do the stance.
  • Question
When can a player touch the Frisbee, and when can he not?
    Community Answer
You can touch it when: - It's been passed to you - During the swinging motion in which you try to hit it out of the hand of the thrower - Trying to intercept it - During a check
  • Question
How many steps can a player take after catching the Frisbee?
    Community Answer
You are allowed a few steps to stop your momentum. Excessive movement that is obviously not trying to stop momentum would be considered a travel.

  • Question
How many times do I need to pass before scoring?
    Community Answer
You don't need to pass a certain number of times before scoring. However, the best way to score is to steadily advance up the field instead of hauling the disc up field.
  • Question
Can you move if you have the frisbee or do you have to stay in one spot and throw it?
    Community Answer
Per the original rules, you can't move. However, over the years, there have been some modified versions that allow you to take one, two or sometimes three steps before you throw it.
  • Question
If I drop the frisbee, does the other team pick it up and continue the play?
    Community Answer
If your team drops the frisbee, it is the other team's turn to have it.
  • Question
In ultimate Frisbee, if there is an incomplete pass, does it change possession or go back to where that play started?
    Community Answer
If there is an incomplete pass, the team opposing the team who threw it gets the Frisbee, even if that team touched it last (knocked the frisbee down, almost caught it, etc.).
  • Question
How is it different from soccer?
    Community Answer
The biggest difference is that you're throwing a disc instead of dribbling a ball. There are different rules to each game, too.

  • Question
How do I start a game of ultimate frisbee if someone got fouled?
    Community Answer
It depends on how many players you have; you may need to find a substitute for the fouled player.
  • Question
What happens if I drop the ultimate Frisbee 2 seconds after I catch it?
    Community Answer
It is considered a turn over and possession goes to the opposing team. However, if your opponent initiated contact with the Frisbee while you where not in the process of throwing (knocking it out of your hand, for example), it is a neutral zone infraction and you would retain possession. However, a blocked throw is a turn over if the blocker was outside of the 3-foot neutral zone.
  • Question
How long do I have to pass the Frisbee once I have caught it?
    Community Answer
After gaining possession of the Frisbee, the thrower has ten seconds to complete a pass to a teammate. This ten-second time limit is counted off audibly by the defender, and players must work together to enforce time penalties with sportsmanship and respect.
