    Community Answer
Acetone works great. It's stronger than normal window cleaner. As with all harsh chemicals, keep it off of the paint work and wear gloves.
  • Question
Will the cleaner cause any problems to the car's paintwork?
    Community Answer
It shouldn't, but it would be a good idea to try to avoid the paintwork in the first place. If you get any cleaner on the paintwork, wipe it up immediately with a paper towel.

    Nipple Johnston
    Community Answer
If it isn't a deep scratch that was worn into the windshield, but only slight surface markings or residue from the blades, then polishing the windshield could work. Wipe the windshield well with acetone, then polish with rubbing compound, and finish by polishing with a good car wax.
