If soap and water do not work, you can also use tougher cleaning products, such as rubbing alcohol or baking soda paste. Be sure to act quickly because if the stain sets for a longer period of time, it will be harder to remove these stains.

The nail polish remover will dissipate because it naturally dissipates when exposed to the air. Take a cold, clean cloth and rub down the entire area affected, repeat if you are unsure, wait 15 minutes, and it should be okay.

  • Question
I have a top loading machine. There is something stuck inside the drainage hose, but I am not able to remove it. What can I do?

    Community Answer
Use a wet/dry vacuum to suck through the hose where it empties into the drain. Or, you can remove the hose and blow through it from the other side. Make sure the obstruction is not in the washing machine. You could also take a wire hanger, bend the end into a small, tight circle to prevent sharp edges, and slowly twist it into a finger size curly shape, like an old telephone cord. Then gently, starting at one end of the removed hose, start pushing the wire through working it in a circular motion. Whatever is caught should come out.
