    Expert Answer
The short answer is yes—but that’s cheating, and it ruins the fun of the game. The best part of dice games is the randomness—the excitement of not knowing what you’ll roll next. If you try to control your rolls with tricks or tools, it doesn’t just spoil the game for you but also for everyone else playing. If you’re just curious, some people try ways to influence rolls. For example, you could buy loaded dice, which are made to roll certain numbers more often. Another way is to practice throwing dice in a specific way to try and control the outcome. But these methods don’t always work, and even if they do, they take away the joy of playing fair and enjoying the surprises the game brings. Games are meant to be fun and fair, and it’s better to focus on strategy and let the dice do their thing.
  • Question
If I pass do I roll again or will the next person roll?
    Community Answer
You roll until you lose. If you crap out by rolling a 2, 3 or a 12, you lose the bet, but you keep the dice and roll again.
  • Question
Can I not hit the sides with my throw?
    Community Answer
It's up to you and whoever you're playing with, but usually you throw it against the side of something.
  • Question
    What about snake eyes?
    Community Answer
Snake eyes are two 1's, making it a 2, so you lose. Your turn is over and you don't win any bets, so you pass the dice on.
  • Question
What are the rules for side bets when shooting craps?
    Community Answer
Once the point is set, anyone can make a side bet on the current game. Usually, side bets are made in groups of two numbers. For example, let's say the shooter's point is a 10. Considering that a 10 and 4 are approximately the same percentage of likelihood to hit, you could make a side bet against the shooter (or anyone else for that matter) that the shooter would hit a 4 or a 10 before they hit a 7 or 11. Some people don't allow side bets on 6 and 8 as a group because of the higher likelihood that they'll hit those numbers versus a 4/10 or a 5/9. But, you can always bet a single number against another single number as well. (E.g. I bet the shooter will "7 out" before they hit an 8.)
  • Question
What is the probability of rolling pair of fours?
    Community Answer
The chance is 1/36, assuming you have two 6 sided die, this is the same as any pair, like snake eyes, pairs of 2s, pairs of threes, etc.
  • Question
How do I win when shooting dice?
    Community Answer
You win when you roll your point. For example, say you rolled a 5 and after you’ve rolled, however many times and you finally hit a 5 before hitting a 7 or 11, then you win.
  • Question
Will I lose the dice if I crap out 3 times in a row?
    Community Answer
Yes, usually if you have a big crowd of people you can't just keep the dice forever! If you lose, pass it on to the next player and try again next time.
  • Question
