My device says I have "insufficient space" but I should have plenty of room. Why won't it update?

Your phone storage is divided into two or more partitions, so there may not be enough room left in the partition where it installs updates. Try deleting some apps or moving them to the SD card. You can do this through an app such as App2SD, or by rooting your phone to get manual access.

You can't. That's why you shouldn't root your device. You must now shut off your device, hold the power and both volume buttons at the same time, and factory reset your device. You WILL lose all your data, but you will get your system update app back.

Is there a way to update over cellular? I have unlimited data, and Android doesn't seem to provide an option to switch to cellular. It wants me to update, but only over WiFi, no other options.

Yes, many users update using mobile network. All you have to do is go to Settings and open Software Updates. If you have selected Auto Update via WiFi, you can cancel all those selections. Whenever you find the option to update via mobile network, click on that on all the apps and settings. And uncheck the option of updating via WiFi.
