  • Question
Will my alarm system interrupt the phone line connection to report the alarm?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
Yes. If you are using a land-line for your alarm connection, the alarm system will interrupt the connection so that it can dial the security company. For that reason, it is best to use your cell phone to make an emergency call.
  • Question
What does "LOW BAT 29" mean?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
Zone 29 is usually associated with the keychain remote that came with your alarm system. In particular, Zone 29 is allocated to the panic button on this remote. If you see "LOW BAT 29" you need to replace the batteries on this keychain remote. The remote takes coin-celled batteries. Once you do this, press the "OFF" button on the keychain remote to reset the message.
  • Question
The control panel keeps on beeping about Zone 09. How do I know where it is?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
If you hear one beep every 30 seconds, then it is an indicator of a trouble condition. Zone 09 may need new batteries or there may be something interfering with the alarm's connection to Zone 09. The best thing to do is to turn the alarm off and then call the security company for service.
  • Question
How do I turn off the chime function?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
To turn off the chime function, enter in your security code then press "CHIME". On newer touchscreen panels, you may have to go into your panel's settings, enter your security code, then toggle the chime on/off button.
  • Question
How do you set the amount of time before the alarm sounds off?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
That is set by the alarm installer. If you know how to use programming mode and your alarm is not monitored you can change the time based on the average distance between the entryway and the alarm panel.
  • Question
How do I get to the batteries?
    Aasim
    Top Answerer
First, place your alarm in test mode by entering your security code and pressing "TEST". On newer panels, you may need to go into the alarm's settings to enable test mode. Then, remove the cover for the sensor in question or the main alarm box and replace the battery. If replacing a panel or alarm box battery, make sure the panel remains plugged in and connected to AC power until the batteries are replaced.

04 Fault is an open zone on 04. Find your list of identifiers that correspond to the zone numbers to determine what zone 04 is. If the zone labels are not listed, use the process of elimination, opening doors or windows while notating what zone shows up on the keypad.
  • Question
Our system is not monitored but the panel box began beeping fast and says check smoke detector. We had changed a battery a few days ago in a smoke detector. We can stop the beeping temporarily, but how do I proceed?
    PremierSecurityInc.

After changing the batteries, return the unit to its mounting base. Each smoke detector has a built in tamper against removal. To clear the rapid beeping, you must enter a valid four digit code plus the off button or 1. On touchscreens, you will press clear and then enter a valid four digit code.
