Dried PVA glue on fabric will harden and if you pull at it, the threads of the fabric can come unstuck, spoiling or even weakening the fabric or garment. Here is what to do to get the glue off easily.
Steps
-
Put rubber gloves on. These are to protect your hands from the steam.Advertisement
-
Find the area of the fabric where the PVA glue has dried on. Get this part ready to hold in place.
-
When the kettle has boiled, hold the fabric over the steam, facing the dried glue part right into the steam . Obviously, be very careful to keep your skin out of the path of the steam.
-
Leave until the glue softens and looks wet or gel-like again.
-
Remove from the steam. Gently pick the softened glue off with your fingers. It should be very easy to remove.
-
Repeat as needed. If it's a large area, you might need to do it in several batches.

QuestionHow do I remove glue from a car seat?Community AnswerI found this: First, try to remove any excess glue from the material. Then, pour cold water over your glue-stained seat and let it sit for 10 – 15 minutes to loosen the stain. If the PVA glue stain is dried or old, you can also rub a small amount of dish detergent or washing up liquid into the stain before soaking it in cold water.
