About Me

The Beginning

  1. My name is Khadijah! I’m 21 years old (as of September 16th), and have been on here for almost 8 years (It is a very long story about why it says 6 years instead of 7 to 8 years). I joined wikiHow on October 14th, 2015, while looking for articles about becoming preppy in middle school in 8th grade (2015).
    • I’m a senior in college!
    • I no longer actively self-study Japanese and mainly use it to browse BJD shopping and auction sales postings from Japan.
    • I attended the 2019 wikiHow meetup in Palo Alto, CA.
    • I did a high school internship at Southwest Airlines in June and July. I then flew down to Southwest Airlines HQ with the other (3) interns on July 31st, in Dallas-Love Field, Texas, for Southwest Airlines high school intern graduation.
    • I am Rneiro on the DollDreaming vinyl and Den of Angels BJD forums. I plan to write how-to articles about Obitsu 1/3 scale dolls specifically.
      • There is a nearly indescribable feeling of pride and excitement when holding my Obitsu dolls, especially Suzuka.

Awards?!

Please use it to show your appreciation for the truly exceptional wikiHow contributors. Like everything on wikiHow, these awards can be given in the "wiki way" meaning that anyone can award them to anyone. They don't require gathering a community consensus or a vote. But that said, let's try and use these awards rarely so they maintain their meaning.

Origin and Purpose of the Barnstar Award

The idea to award Barnstars at wikHow was originally proposed by Nathan Wong. It was inspired by the the creation of the Barnstar as a Wiki award by SunirShah on MeatballWiki and the common usage at Wikipedia. In Sunir's words, the goal of the barnstar was to celebrate fantastic displays of wiki community effort:

"One of (the wiki community) most central values is BarnRaising. We believe in building things collaboratively and collectively. To do this, each person plays their part, for sure. Some people create content. Other people edit. Some reorganize. Others bridge...to other communities. Some write software. Others manage projects. There are as many ways to contribute as there are hands helping. Occasionally, a person stands out above the rest and does something none of us would have thought of doing or were too lazy to do. They give a large gift to the community that shines against the background of our daily smaller gifts. Sometimes we thank them and maybe even congratulate them for a job well done. Sometimes we merely appreciate their contribution silently. Certainly people here know their work is appreciated and respected, but that isn't always enough."

The barnstar image is a public domain image created by Sunir Shah of the Meatball Wiki community. High Quality wikiHow Contributor

Khadijah - You've always had a keen eye for vandalism, but over the months and years you've really stepped up your game when it comes to handling trolls with a cool head and balancing RC with your other interests on the wiki and other parts of your life. I think that finding that balance is often so key for editing happy and positively over many years without it burning you out, so I'm really glad you've hit your stride. We're lucky to have you looking out for quality, and writing and editing, too!
