Is your Fitbit completely out of battery? If it's not turning on right away, don't worry–you may just need to let it charge and leave it be for a couple hours. If that doesn't work, there are plenty of other fixes you can try to get it back on again. Here's what to do if your Fitbit is not charging using Charge, Flex, Versa, Ace, and Alta series.
Getting Fitbit Devices to Charge
- If your Fitbit doesn't charge, you may need to swap out your cables, try a new outlet, or restart it.
- Dirt and debris can build up over time. Clean the charging contacts with a microfiber cloth routinely.
- Let your Fitbit charge for at least 30 minutes if it reaches 0%.

Troubleshooting Fitbit Charge

Try a different charging cable or outlet. You may have a faulty cable or even a faulty outlet. Sometimes, third-party cables may not work properly. If needed, you can order a replacement charging cable from the Google Store .

2Let it charge for a couple hours. Typically, it takes about 30 minutes to be charged enough to boot up from 0%. However, when a Fitbit has been dead for a long time, it may take a little longer to get to this stage.

3Restart your Fitbit. Plug your Fitbit into the USB charging cable. Press and hold the button on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times with 1 second pauses between each press. The Fitbit logo should appear.
- If it doesn't turn on, repeat this step a few more times.
- If your device doesn't have a button on the charging cable, press and hold the button on the side of your Fitbit for about 15 seconds. This will hard reset your device.

4Clean the charging contacts. Dirt buildup may be interfering with the charge. Use a microfiber cloth to gently clean the charging pins on the back of the watch. You can also gently wipe the charging clip.

5Update your Fitbit software. Try this method if your device is on but can't keep charge; you can only update your Fitbit if it's on.
- Charge your Fitbit and keep it nearby.
- Open the Fitbit app.
- Tap Today .
- Tap Devices .
- Tap your device.
- Tap Update .

6Dry your device thoroughly. If your device comes into contact with water or sweat, it must be dried completely before charging. If needed, leave it out to try in a cool area, away from indirect sunlight, for a few hours. Then, try charging it again.
