I used to look so slim but now it feels like my belly has gotten a bit more noticeable. I haven't changed much with what I eat or what I do during the day, so I don't know where it's coming from. Time for a new year, new me and honestly, I just want to be able to see my abs again. Any advice on how to get rid of that extra belly fat?

Unfortunately, you can’t target specific areas for fat loss. A combination of clean eating, cardio and resistance exercises will burn fat overall. In addition, core exercises will help tone and strengthen your belly muscles.

Eat healthy by limiting your sugar and simple carbs, eating a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, lean protein, and healthy fats such as avocados, nuts, and olive oil.

I suggest aiming to lose 1-2 pounds a week for a healthy weight loss goal so you don't stress your body.

I don't think there's a secret trick to losing belly fat! If you want to lose any kind of weight or fat, you need to be in a calorie deficit, which means you burn more calories than you eat. This is achieved through a combination of eating fewer calories and/or burning more calories. Using an app like MyFitnessPal to track your calories and workouts could be helpful for figuring out what calorie deficit works for you!

I've had trouble finding time to exercise in my schedule and I don't like the idea of giving up my favorite foods, so something that has worked for me is intermittent fasting, because I still get to eat my favorites foods, I just eat less of them. I have set times during which I'm allowed to eat. I typically don't have my first meal of the day until 1pm and then I don't eat past 9pm. Swapping out sugary drinks for water, tea, and diet drinks was also helpful!
