What's the best starter Pokemon?

Okay, I'm a grass-starter stan through and through, and I think the best starter is Turtwig from gen 4, no contest. How could you not love that cute little turtle?

Seriously though, when it evolves into Torterra and becomes a Grass/Ground-type, it's so strong and looks like a dinosaur. That extra typing means it's not weak to Fire attacks anymore, so it's a tank when it comes to battles.

I'm going to sound pretty basic here, but Charmander is the best of all time. Charmander's just a classic, and can you really go wrong with a strong fire-breathing lizard like Charizard? I don't think so.

I didn't start playing until gen 3, so in Pokémon Emerald the best starter is Mudkip. I'm such a big fan of its design and it's been my favorite ever since the games have come out.

Plus, it evolves into Swampert! A Water-type that doesn't take any damage from Electric attacks is such a perfect counter to so many other Pokémon that I don't think it can be topped.

Wow, where's all the love for the later generations of Pokémon? Gen 7 had some great starters, but Rowlet is by far my favorite out of the three. I would do anything for that tiny owl with a leaf bow tie.

Decidueye is such a cool design too, and part Ghost-type! I think it's great just based on how unique it is!

oshawott is the greatest. believe me, everyone can say that it's stats throughout the evolution are mid, maybe even bad. however! when does that matter when you can just max your pokemon to level 100? i like oshawott as a base starter, it's my favorite.
