Go to https://vk.com in your preferred web browser. You can use any browser on your computer to make a VK account. This will open VK's welcome page.
- Make sure you have your mobile phone handy, as you'll need to confirm your phone number to sign up for VK.
- While it used to be possible to make a VK account through your Facebook account, this option is no longer available. You have to provide a phone number to create an account.

Enter your phone number and click Continue . Your phone number is required for account verification. Russia's country code, +7, is prefilled. If you live in a different country, replace it with your country code (such as +1 for the United States, +91 for India, or +95 for Myanmar).
- If you don't have a phone number, you can use a Google Voice phone number (US only) or try a temporary cell phone number service .
- Your phone number will not be publicly displayed on VK.

Enter the verification code and click Continue . You may have to wait a few minutes for the code to arrive via SMS.
- If your phone number is already linked to a VK account, you will be asked to sign in with your existing account or create a new one.

Enter the requested details to complete the signup. During registration, you'll be asked to provide your name, gender, and birthday. Download the VK app onto your Android or iPhone. Signing up for a VK account using the mobile app on your phone is easy. Unlike signing up in a web browser, which only lets you join with a Russian phone number, you can select your country code in the mobile app.
