So you bought a bag of long skinny balloons for the party. Your plan is to try twisting them. How hard can it be, right? Well if you've figured out how to blow them up, here is one of the most popular and simple balloon sculptures around.

  1. Blow up the balloon using a balloon pump . Blow until the tip just about disappears. Do not over-inflate. Each twist takes up space, so it can pop if you over-inflate.
  2. Fold the balloon as shown in the picture.

  3. Fearlessly twist the two sections together. A double twist is standard. The loop you make should be large enough to fit the balloon through.

Everything about this type of entertainment is dexterity and constant practice. In the beginning, you're gonna spend many balloons, don't give up. Try again and again, and eventually, your muscles will learn and you will twist the balloons without even looking or thinking about your hands.

      Things You'll Need

      • You need a long skinny balloon known as 260Q. The letter is the company that produces them, so it can change. Qualatex is the brand used here and it is very popular with professional balloon twisters.
      • You will need a balloon pump to blow them up. Few professionals can do it by mouth, so splurge on the pump, and don't be discouraged.
