What if there is already a bookworm in the class?

That's perfectly fine. You can be a bookworm as well. You can make friends with the other bookworm, and if you don't like them, then you can just ignore them.
  • Question
Are book worms and book lovers similar?
    Community Answer
Yes, they are. A book lover is someone who loves to read, and a book worm is someone who reads a ton of books, so the two often intersect.

Turn the gadgets off and put them somewhere out of sight while you're reading, like in a cupboard. You could even give your gadget to someone and ask them not to give it back to you for a while.

  • Question
How can I stop all my nonsense and be a bookworm for the whole of my life?
    Community Answer
If you want to stop acting silly, focus on whenever you want to make a joke, stop and say something serious. Also, speak properly, don't use slang or say "like" randomly in a sentence. Have good posture. Stock up on books and spend a lot of time reading them. Keep the books in good condition and don't lose the front covers, get them wet, and so on.
  • Question
What kinds of books are good for a 12 year old?
    Community Answer
It depends on what kind of book you like. I'm a fan of realistic fiction (Wonder & Fish In a Tree are some of my favourites), but if you like fantasy, go for the Harry Potter series. Into sci-fi? Try The City Of Ember. It all depends on your favourite genre, these are just some of my suggestions.
  • Question
    Can adults read children's literature?
    Community Answer
Sure. Some children's literature is timeless/ageless and can be enjoyed by anyone. An adult probably should exclusively read children's literature, though. Mix it up with something more intellectually challenging.
  • Question
I'm 11 and I read teen books, but my school library only has books for ages 11 and under. What should I do?
    Community Answer
You should ask your parents to take you to a public library and get you a library card, so you can read books you like there.
  • Question
What do I do if I lose interest in a book and stop reading it?
    Community Answer
If you lost interest in it in the first place, it may have been not as good as you hoped it would have been, leaving you disappointed. If it was truly terrible, you can put it down and never try it again, but if you want to try it again, put the book down for a while and then try the book again with no expectations for it (meaning you don't think it will be bad or good).

What if the library is 10 minutes away, too far to bike to, and I’m only 12?

Ask your parents if they are okay to take you to the library. Parents usually encourage their kids to read, so why wouldn’t they want to go to the library with you? Meanwhile they can choose a book for themselves as well.
  • Question
I have been at home for a while and my books that I ordered are being delayed for months, How do you suggest I spend my time waiting? P.S. I have already read all the books I own!
    Asymerics

You can buy or rent the book you would like online. It’s not as good as reading the actual book, but you are still reading it. If the stores are open (many are currently closed because of Covid-19), you can go buy it physically. You can also find a way to track your order so you know when the books will finally arrive. And ask friends or neighbors to loan you some books if they can.
