    Expert Answer
The best thing to do to be a better Muslim is to get closer to Allah and to realize the Presence of Allah is there no matter what we do in our life. To get closer to Allah, you have to connect yourself with him. Use the Quran, the Words of Allah. Read it, try to comprehend it, and apply it to your daily life. Make sure to always do the five daily prayers, as there are no other acts of worship that we have to do daily.

No, because Allah is the most forgiving and the most kind. The door of forgiveness never closes and chances are always given for you to repent.
  • Question
I'm not satisfied in life, so can't feel like thanking Allah, what can I do?
    Community Answer
Ask yourself why you aren't satisfied. It's very important for you to understand your needs, but be grateful for what you do have: food, shelter, clean water, Internet access, and education. Never forget, Allah will never deprive you of what you deserve. Always keep in mind that Allah never misjudges. You, as a Muslim, should be believer in Taqdir, which means lot or fortune. What is lotted, cannot be blotted, but your hard work may urge Allah to bless you with nice fortune. Lastly, have Taqwa, which means fear and admiration to Allah. Allah loves you and wants to please you with his gifts and blessings.

  • Question
I want to ask Allah to grant me with a newborn baby, inshallah Ameen any dua on that?
    Sobi
    Top Answerer
You can make any du'a to Allah to grant you a child. Make du'a during times when it is accepted: on Laylatul Qadr, before the salam of a prayer, during the night before dawn, between adhan and iqamah, when it is raining, when doing sujood, when drinking zamzam water, and while saying "La ilaha ilaa anta subhanaka inee kuntu minadh dhaalimeen", which is the du'a of the Prophet Yunus ('alayhi-salam). You can also read the du'a of the Prophet Zakariya ('alayhis-salam) when he wanted a child. He said, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."; in Arabic, "rabi habli mila dunku dhuriyatan tayibah, inaka samee ud-dua".
  • Question
I often get thoughts about how Allah is a jerk and how he isn't as merciful as others by comparing others to him. I don't truly believe this way. Is this shirk?
    Sobi
    Top Answerer
Allah is the most merciful and the most kind and He has blessed everyone in one way or another. Some have food, others have a roof over their head, or education, or a family, etc. To say that Allah isn't merciful is quite unappreciative of what He has given us, in fact to say that He isn't as merciful as others, comparing him to other beings, is shirk and an insult to His status and greatness. These thoughts may be the whispers of the devil; regarding this, the Qur'an says "And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing". You should seek refuge in Allah from Shaytaan when these thoughts come.
  • Question
If a person suffers from anxiety and negative thoughts, who is punishing that person, Allah or Dajjal?
    Community Answer
The Dajjal is a thing that God created so dajjal cannot punish you. But if you have anxiety, then God gave you a test so he won't punish you. Moreover, you cannot "catch" anxiety and negative thoughts, they are an indication of your reaction to bad events and unpleasant things people say.
  • Question
I want to get good grade in my exams, so how should I pray to Allah?
    Community Answer
First and foremost you must study well. Do all of what is required of you to pass your exam.
  • Question
Does Allah interfere in/with our lives? Does Allah punish people in this world, like making them sick, creating anxiety, giving them negative thoughts, etc., or is it dajjal who does that?
    Community Answer
As a Muslim, you should believe in the articles of faith. The 6th article is about belief in predestination. This means everything is recorded by Allah beforehand, as it is written in the Quran: "Allah is the Creator of all things and He is the Guardian over all things" (39:62).
  • Question
I have a lot of health issues, and I’m only 13. I always cry because I feel pain and sadness. Is this a test given to me by Allah? What du’a can I say to help me with my problems?
    Community Answer
Allah will never give you a test you cannot handle. He knows your strength more than you do. After every hardship there is ease. You can do this. I'm not sure of a specific d'ua, but you can just talk; say something like "Oh Allah, please help me and bring good into my life."

  • Question
What is the best possible way to show gratitude to Allah? How exactly do you do that? Is it from praying, fasting or giving sadaqah?
    Ummshareef
    Top Answerer
These are all great ways of showing gratitude, but the most important factor is the degree of gratitude felt in the heart rather than exactly how the gratitude is expressed.
  • Question
What is the proper way to ask for forgiveness of Allah (SWT)?
    Ummshareef
    Top Answerer
Have a private conversation with Allah (SWT) in your native language or use one of the well-known duas from the Sunnah. Acknowledge each and every one of your sins, however seemingly small, and show that you now understand why they were wrong. Promise not to repeat them and simply ask to be forgiven in your own words. You should also try to make amends to anyone that you have wronged. Crying when asking for forgiveness is a sign that you sincerely regret your actions and will use the fear Allah's punishment to try to become a better person.
  • Question
Who is Allah anyway? Sounds like a pretty cool dude.

Allah is the standard Arabic word for God and is used by Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews as well as by Muslims. The Arabic word thus holds special significance for Muslims, regardless of their native tongue, because the Arabic word was spoken by God himself. Allah is the pivot of the Muslim faith.
