The shofar should be played exclusively during Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. It should not be played during regular Shabbat services or other holidays.
  • Question
Can I listen to shofar music on cd and play it throughout my home?
    Community Answer
Yeah, you can do that, but it's not quite blowing a Shofar nor do you fulfil the Mitzvah correctly.

How is one to practice and gain experience with a shofar if it is only to be blown twice a year?

You are free to blow shofar the rest of the year (except on Shabbat, holidays, and other days when it is prohibited to make music). It is only on the days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur themselves that there is a specific prohibition against blowing shofar. In fact, some congregations blow the shofar each day (except Shabbat) for the entire month of Elul.

Look at their terms of use. They require, at the very least, that you attribute the content to wikiHow.
