What amp should I get with a standard Fender Stratocaster?
    Community Answer
A Fender Champion is a solid choice. Crush amps are also make quality practice amps.
  • Question
I'm thinking of saving up for a Marshall dsl100h + 4X12 cab. I'm not in a band and will be playing at bedroom level. Is this a good idea?
    Community Answer
That's a bit of overkill if you're not doing live performances. I would suggest a combo Marshall amp.
  • Question
Is a 10 watt little amp enough for me as a beginner?
    Community Answer
Yes, 10 amps should be fine for you as a beginner.
  • Question
Is it possible to dial in a good tone on a 50/100 watt tube amp playing at bedroom level?
    Community Answer
A 50-100 watt is going to be very loud. If you only need to play in the bedroom, then 5 watts may be too loud. If you want something for both practice and gigging, it really depends on a lot of factors, like what kind of music you're playing, how loud the drummer is, how good the PA is, etc. The only way to know for sure if you're happy with the quiet tone is to try amps yourself (quietly).
  • Question
I've noticed there is "Phones" and "AUX" on some amps. What do they mean?
    Community Answer
Phones is the headphone jack; AUX is the auxiliary input.
  • Question
What is the best amp for rock, metal, and heavy metal?
    Community Answer
That's a lot of ground for one amp to cover. A Fender does classic rock fantastically, but doesn't do high gain tones well at all. A MESA amp might have the best high gains ever, but it certainly isn't a rocker amp. A Marshall does both rock and metal exceptionally well, so get a tube Marshall!
  • Question
What is the best amp for playing music from the 1960s?
    Community Answer
It depends. Early sixties (59-64), you can't go wrong with a Fender blues junior, or a Vox AC10, 15 or 30. For the later part of the 60's, I would recommend a Vox, or a Fender black/silverface (princeton reverb, deluxe reverb, twin reverb, etc.).
