Generally, your first 'experience' after seeing the card is a good indication; this could be by way of a thought, feeling, vision, etc. If this doesn't occur at first, take time to study the card (its text, colors and picture) and read the about it in the deck’s book. If you still don't draw any understanding, take some time to either think on it or ask the angels for further clarification and draw another card (please note sometimes drawing too many cards can create confusion; if you are having one of those days, it's best to clear the deck, set it aside and try again later).

The first thing you "experience" after seeing the card is a good indication, this could be by way of a thought, feeling, vision, etc. You can also read up on the individual cards from the deck's book, as they provide additional meanings, explanations and examples which can be quite helpful. If you are doing a reading for someone, they may receive their own messages, so it's nice to advise them to be open to anything they experience during the reading.
