QuestionHow do I exaggerate the cartoon character?Community AnswerExaggerate the character's features by stretching or compressing the nose, mouth, eyes, face, ears etc.
-
QuestionHow do I create a chibi character?Community AnswerMake the head big and roundish and the body small and squat, with short chubby arms and legs and small hands and feet. The eyes should be larger than normal, possibly filled with humongous sparkles from reflected light, and the nose and mouth tiny, almost nonexistent (unless the character is screaming or sneezing, etc.). If this is not helpful, you can look for manga drawing guide books at public libraries: those usually have some chibi options.

QuestionWhat if you want to draw someone that isn't fictional (a real person I know)? Do you do the same?Community AnswerYes. And there are plenty of art guidance books found in public libraries that can help with that. Otherwise, you might try looking at a photograph of said person and practicing on it.

QuestionHow do I get nice simple ideas?Community AnswerGoogle is your best friend for creativity. Look at other artworks. Don't copy that artwork, but make it your own. You can even combine multiple images in your artwork.

QuestionWhat if I want to make someone up?Community AnswerThen do that! Do a little brainstorming and sketching first and see what you come up with. If you feel stuck, try to think of a character you like from a show or video game, or even someone you know in real life, and change them up a bit.

QuestionI want to make an anime character by combining a real life person and a made-up character. How could I do it?Community AnswerYou can think of something that represents that real life person, like his or her nose, hair or anything. You may also imagine what will the made up character look like if it was combined with that real life person. If you drew that made up character then you can also put a trademark of the real life person that you are saying. Or put both of the made-up character and real life person's trademark then invent a new clothing or anything that isn't their trademark.
