    Community Answer
You may use any version of the Bible you like to get to know Jesus.
  • Question
I've been trying to get to know Jesus, trying to decide if I want to be baptized. I was not raised in the Church, how do I decide, and how do I find a way to believe in Jesus?
    Community Answer
Finding a way to believe may be tricky. But my advice is to smart small. Maybe get into the habit of praying every night. This will help you be more open to Jesus. You could also read your Bible. It may seem impossible, but just read a few verses a day, and it will help you welcome Jesus into your soul. I've heard that the book of Mark is a good place to start. I hope this helps. Remember, you don't have to be perfect to be a Christian. God will welcome us in His arms no matter what.
  • Question
What if Jesus hates me? He never talks to me.
    Community Answer
Jesus loves you so much that he used his life to die on the cross for your sins. There is always a reason for what God does. Keep praying and reading your Bible, and pay attention. Jesus may be talking to you in a way you haven't yet noticed. Talk to a clergy member at your church if you have more questions.
  • Question
Can a believer light incense in their home?
    Community Answer
    Yes, you can.
  • Question
    Why can't we see Jesus?
    Community Answer
It depends. Some people believe you can't see Jesus because he doesn't exist. Others believe that you can't see him because he stays with God instead of on Earth.
  • Question
How can I care for myself in peace without thinking now and then that I have to solve someone else's problem?
    Community Answer
Always take care of yourself first, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Then, when you see a need that you can meet, go ahead and pursue it.
  • Question
I used to be an atheist and I made bad jokes about God and Jesus. How do I beg for forgiveness?
    Community Answer
This might depend on your denomination. In Catholicism, for example, your priest will give you advice about what to do if you discuss this in confession. In other denominations, a pastor or other leader can also advise you. Otherwise, you can simply pray and ask God for forgiveness, devote your life to God and perform good works, and if you feel like you have to make up for the jokes you made, perhaps you could share the Good News with others.
  • Question
Can married Christians use condoms? Are condoms an abomination?
    Acrocanthosaurus
    Community Answer
Yes, you can use condoms. The Bible says nothing bad about birth control. It may seem odd, but they used birth control back in the time of Jesus too, just not the same kind of course.
  • Question
I love Jesus, but am afraid to preach about Him in front of others. I want to because it’s right and Jesus will be proud, but I'm still scared. What should I do?

    Community Answer
Once you understand that we're all one and everyone needs to hear His love, your fear of speaking will fall away. Continue to rehearse and study Jesus' teachings, for those are the stories that truly matter. Show love to all, and show no judgement. Try to be like Jesus, and preaching will become easier with time.
