  • Question
Is the meat near the bone safe to eat on a pork chop if it's still pink?

Pork will remain pink near the bone. But if you are worried about the doneness of said meat, have a food grade thermometer nearby. After cooking, stick a thermometer in the thickest part of the chop away from the bone, wait 30 seconds, and make sure its temperature is at minimum 145 degrees, or 165 degrees if you want to be absolutely sure.

Yes, you can bake pork chops instead of frying them. However, you can still fry them even if you don't have a wire rack. Allow the oil drain from the pork chops by laying them on a plate covered with a napkin instead of using a rack.
