Try covering the jar with plastic wrap, securing it with a rubber band, and poking some holes in the plastic. The gnats will enter through the holes but have a harder time getting back out of the trap.
  • Question
Should I use apple cider vinegar or white vinegar?
    Community Answer
Apple cider vinegar, but rubbing alcohol works great also. Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle can bring them right down, and if you follow up spraying them, they die quickly.
  • Question
Can I use bleach for gnats in my kitchen?
    Community Answer
You can, but be sure that you are not spraying it on your food or dishes.
  • Question
Can I use I use regular vinegar to get rid of gnats?
    Ditzydoodle
    Community Answer
I don't think that will do any good. Your best bet is regular use of insect spray, in and around screen doors, windows, garbage cans, laundry areas, behind stoves and under sinks.
  • Question
Why are the gnats getting in my refrigerator?

It's possible you have standing water in or around your refrigerator. It could be from a leaking pipe, or perhaps the freezer is leaking water. Make sure all of the food in the refrigerator is sealed as well. It's possible that something you put in the refrigerator was already infested, and, if you throw it away, you can eliminate at least some of the bugs.
