No you just buy one through a class 3. Go down to your local gun store and buy a suppressor. Once you have proof of purchase they will walk you through the paperwork you need to submit to the ATF and filing your one time $200 tax. You will probably wait 3 to 4 months to get approved by the ATF and then you'll go back to the store to pick up your suppressor.

No matter what kind of business, private property or not, if you are hiring people to work security for you, you have to be set up as a Private Protective Organization. I'm in TN, so this is not hard to do at all. It's $50. Then when you get the license you can hire security. They have to be certified. In TN private security can only carry handguns or shotguns.

To get a semi-automatic weapon? No. To get a fully automatic weapon? Yes. A standard AR-15 that you can buy from Academy does not require a class 3 FFL to purchase, but it is semi-automatic. (One shot fired per trigger pull.) There are no fully automatic AR-15 models. This license would be something you need to purchase a select-fire MP5, M60, M2 machine gun, and other military grade weapons that are capable of firing multiple rounds on a single trigger pull.
