    Expert Answer
Apply an adhesive and let it dry partially until it feels tacky. Then your gold leaf will stick easily.
  • Question
What sealant do you recommend to protect the gold leaf?

    Community Answer
Any permanent clear gloss spray sealer or permanent solvent-based varnish will seal the leaf.
  • Question
    Is varnish a good sealer?
    Wiliiam-james
    Community Answer
Varnishing gives wood a clear solid film without clouding the grain of the wood. Wood varnish offers really good protection and the wood life is extended substantially. Wood Treat Wood Seal is a general all purpose sealer which penetrates the wood and nourishes the wood at the same time.
  • Question
How do you clean furniture, such as a wooden night table, that is painted and has gold leaf all over it?
    Hannah Madden
    Community Answer
Gold leaf is very fragile, and using a cleaning agent on the furniture could rub the gold leaf right off. Use a duster to gently wipe the gold leaf down whenever you need to.
