Can the Body Shop method be used on clothes that don't fit tightly?

It won't look the way you want it to. Outfits that aren't form-fitting use 3D meshes, and blacking out the alpha will just get rid of the clothing texture without affecting the mesh, so you'll end up with an outfit that has your Sim's skin tone on it. The tight-fitting outfits, like swimwear or underwear, work for making a "nude" outfit because the outfit textures are pasted directly onto the Sim's body and don't have a separate mesh.
