There's a huge difference. Combustion or actual burning is what produces most of the carcinogens in smoking. By heating instead, you release the oils without burning the plant material left behind. Vapor was analyzed and found to be 98.1% cannabinoids. Smoke was analyzed and found to be 12% cannabinoids.

You need the two straws: one is the choke and the other is the one you draw in. If you want to be able to draw air from an enclosed space, you need an intake. Then, you block it while you boil the product so vapor cannot escape. Once you are ready to drain the content of your vape into your lungs, you unblock it so you can have the air intake needed to actually draw the vapor out.
