  • Question
My large pores on my cheeks are still visible after my full coverage. Why?
    Community Answer
It depends on your foundation. Use a brush and work the foundation in circular motions into your skin.
  • Question
I don't have a primer, so if I just apply my tinted moisturizer, is that bad?
    Community Answer
No. It really depends on your moisturizer.
  • Question
Every time I put primer and then foundation, my pores seem to show, especially my nose, which has a lot of blackheads.

Use pore strips for your nose once or twice a week. Before applying primer, rest ice cubes where your pores are, it will tighten your face and make your pores less noticeable.
  • Question
At what point do I use the face illuminater?
    Community Answer
Once you've applied your foundation and concealer, use the illuminater on areas you wish to appear more prominent, such as the bridge of the nose or the more prominent part of your cheekbones.
  • Question
Should I always use a primer before makeup?
    Community Answer
Yes, a primer can minimize pores and give you a smooth surface for your foundation.
  • Question
How can you cover dark under-eye circles and acne marks?
    Community Answer
Use a green concealer to cover any redness on the face caused by acne marks, and an orange/yellow to conceal dark circles under the eye. You can use a brush or your fingers. If you use a brush, apply light layers until you have good coverage. It's easier to work with and blend lighter layers than it is to blend a heavier layer. You can find color-correcting palettes as individual pots, or you can find primers in green and orange.
  • Question
What can men with large pores do?
    Community Answer
    Use a charcoal peel.
  • Question
Should I contour my face before or after foundation?
    Community Answer
It depends what type of contour product you're using. If you're using a cream contour, apply it before your foundation. If you're using a powder contour, apply it after you've applied the foundation and set it with powder.
  • Question
Which type of concealer is best for oily skin: liquid, cream, or stick concealer?
    Community Answer
Liquid set with powder -- this works because if you do get oily during the day, your concealer stays and the powder can suck up the extra oil.
  • Question
Can you cover scars in the same way?
    Community Answer
These techniques will also work for filling in and minimizing the appearance of scars. However, if your scars include discoloration and pitting in your skin texture, you may also want to incorporate a color correcting product. Dot a green concealer over redness to counteract it, and then apply your foundation over it.
  • Question
Using compact powder my pores are getting more visible. Why is this happening?
    Community Answer
It keeps happening because if you do not wash the powder from your pores it starts to collect and clog.
  • Question
I really need something that can cover my dead skin, which foundation should I use?
    Community Answer
You don't need foundation, it would not be helpful in this case. Just start using a good quality facial moisturizer. This will heal your skin and make it healthier in general.
  • Question
What is the difference between BB cream and CC cream?
    Community Answer
BB cream is a bit lighter and has less coverage than CC cream.
  • Question
I'm 56 with normal to dry skin, but my pores are really visible around my chin, forehead and surrounding areas of the nose. I don't have oily skin or an oily T-zone, and I do exfoliate. Any advice?
    Community Answer
Try switching up your face care routine, like getting the pore exfoliate with scrubbing beads to remove trapped oils and try using moisturizer.
  • Question
I get some hair on my chin, how do I get rid of it?

You could shave, wax, or pluck it if there are only a couple hairs here and there.
  • Question
How do I hide my uneven skin tone around my lips and nose area?
    Community Answer
Try a foundation called BB Cream. It reduces pores, covers them up, and you can get it in all skin tones.
  • Question
What type of primer and foundation is good for semi dry/ combo skin that sweats (facial hyperhydrosis) a lot but isn't oily?
    Community Answer
Start your morning with a moisturizer that is both hydrating and balancing and gives skin a beautiful, smooth finish. Look for moisturizers with vitamins, antioxidants or aloe vera. Then you may use a hydrating non-oily primer, but you don't have to. Especially with dry skin, you could apply a hydrating foundation directly on top of your moisturizer, to make sure that the product properly melts into your skin. Use a long-lasting but hydrating foundation with a satin finish to conceal dryness and sweaty areas, and properly press it into the skin with a damp beauty sponge to assure longevity. Then, set your T-zone very lightly with a loose setting powder.
  • Question
Can you suggest some good silicone based foundations for skin with large pores?
    Community Answer
Although silicone based products mask the appearance of large pores, regular use may actually increase pore size and may clog the pores and produce breakouts. Instead, focus on the right makeup application to make pores less visible. Make sure your skin is hydrated and prepped for makeup by sweeping a hydrating toner or toning pad across your face beforehand. Make sure you "fill in” your pores and create a smooth canvas by tapping, not rubbing your foundation products with your fingers or a beauty sponge. You can also use a large, fluffy brush with a slightly rounded head for best application in circular motion.
