  • Question
Can a piano be turned on its side?
    Community Answer
Yes, but this is very dangerous and you shouldn't do it. This would take a lot of people, since you need people on the side on which the piano will be pushed to; people to actually push the piano; and enough people to keep the piano steady while the moving is going on.
  • Question
Can you move an upright piano in a U-Haul trailer?
    Chase Ogden
    Community Answer
Yes. I have helped a friend do this before when moving. Measure the width of the U-Haul truck and see if the piano is shorter than that. If it is, you can lay it down sideways and strap it down. If that does not work, lay it down straight from front to back, and that should work.
  • Question
Can you lay an upright piano flat (on its back) to transport it?
    Chase Ogden
    Community Answer
If it is pretty flat on the back, then this will work. Make sure and it is strapped down, or securely in place so it will not move and get damaged.
