What it means to read a text critically? How is this different from just reading something quickly or for fun?

Reading critically is reading deeply and searching for different literary devices and character development in the story. Don't just skim over and leave the book with the general meaning and plot. Leave the book with a deeper understanding and a connection to it and to the author.
