  • Question
Can I manually solve the error "operating system not found" with a blank screen?
    Community Answer
If no operating system is found, you should get a new operating system by downloading it and flashing it on a USB key or a disc (if the problematic computer has a disc drive), and after flashing it starting the broken computer and clicking on the correct button which will open the boot menu (the buttons can usually be found on the starting screen of the computer). From the boot menu choose the USB drive. The operating system setup will guide you from there.
  • Question
My laptop crashing after plugging in a power cord. What can I do?

  • Question
What could be the problem if my laptop shuts down automatically when I have been using it continuously for a while?
    Community Answer
If you don't have your laptop plugged in, it could have run out of battery power; the battery gauge is not always accurate. Your laptop could also have gotten overheated. Wait a few minutes, make sure it is plugged in, then turn it back on again.
  • Question
What should I do when my hard drive fails?
    Community Answer
Make sure you back up your personal data files before the hard drive fails. (It's probably worth researching back-up software that will automatically back up your data files as you generate them so you don't have to do it manually.) The hard drive should include a partition with a new Windows installation program on it. You access the program by hitting a function key (I don't know which one though) as the computer is booting up, similar to accessing the BIOS, but using a different key. You'll get a menu that includes "Restore computer to factory-original configuration." Restoring includes formatting the C drive. Of course, if the hard drive has completely failed, it will need replacing.

It sounds like your computer is overheating. This can be for several reasons but the most common is dust build-up. Check to see that the heatsink and fans are clean of dust and are indeed functioning. if this does not solve the issue, you may need to apply new thermal paste onto the CPU. Make sure not to add too much.
  • Question
What do I do if my Windows 10 computer gets stuck on the startup logo? What do I do if I removed the CMOS from my computer and it's showing a black screen?
    SPCSTORMSERVICE
    Community Answer
The CMOS battery is connected to the BIOS. Removing the CMOS removes the power and resets the BIOS. However, since you didn't put the CMOS back, the Bios has no power and the PC cannot turn on. Putting your CMOS back should do the trick.
