    Expert Answer
The best tip to make arm hair thinner and lighter is to do sugaring. With sugaring the hair is removed from the root each time. Over time this makes the hair much finer and sparser. Some people have seen great results after only 2 treatments. Sugaring is a service you would want to maintain every 6 weeks or so.

  • Question
Will these methods work if I have a hormonal disease or infection?
    Community Answer
For the hormonal diseases, such as hirsutism, these methods should work. But as for infection, it depends on the type of infection. If there is a staph infection, infected follicles, infected cuts, pimples/acne, or yeast infections, then ONLY use the waxing methods and do not re-use the sugar wax. Using abrasive methods or methods that have the ability to spread will just introduce the infectious bacteria into other areas of your skin, causing it to spread or even create new infections.

To make the sugar wax, cook the ingredients over low heat for about 45 minutes until the sugar caramelizes, then let it cool. Once the sugar mixture cools, you should be left with a sticky taffy-like wax. To use, apply the wax with a plastic knife or wooden stick in the direction the hair grows.
