  • Question
How can I make a roleplay interesting again?
    Karley Snyder

  • Question
What do I do if I’m having trouble staying in character when roleplaying online?
    Community Answer
You should look at the source material again, find dialogue between that character and others. If you need help, a wiki of the source will likely have the characters' appearances in a section of the character's page (Ex. Gravity Falls wiki might tell you that Wendy doesn't talk much in the first episode, while the MSPA wiki would tell you exactly which pesterlogs Lil Hal participates in). You can use this to find exactly which episodes/pages/movies to check for how your character acts. It's okay to be occasionally out of character, though, it happens to everybody.
  • Question
Is there a particular way to format text in live chat? I usually format character dialogue “Something like this” and actions as plain text like; she would gently lay the box on the bed.
    PauzeTheSnowLeopard
    Community Answer
The speech is good, but some people get confused with saying 'She/He would..'. Check the rules. Some people do it like this instead: '(Name1) charged at (Name2), attempting to knock him/her over.' But, it is all a matter of preference, so do what you want!
  • Question
How do I enforce rules better? The story is set in medieval times, and I just had someone try and make a character with modern clothes and purple hair.
    Community Answer
There will always be some people who will not follow the rules. You can either try a strike system, where they have 3 chances to obey the rules, and when they get all three strikes, they are literally out, and will not be able to roleplay, or their character is deleted. Or, you can try the same thing except instant ban. Or, you can embrace their fun-loving silliness and relegate them to village idiot, dumbfounded time traveler or local eccentric; not everything is worth taking to extremes of seriousness, a little fun makes it enjoyable for everyone and allows your humor-driven friends to stay interested.
